Objective

X-Ray, Mammography, CT-scan, MRI and Ultrasound imaging are taught to diagnose diseases of the human body. The objective of the program is to prepare technologists, who are professionally guided to use the above technology, including patient preparation. They will be trained clinically in handling patients including digital radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, computed tomography (CT),ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

There are ample career opportunities post completion of the Bsc Radiotherapy program such as:

• Radiography technologists in healthcare institutions both Government and private sector, Super Specialty hospitals, Diagnostic and Imaging centers. Depending on the performance, there could be a rapid ascent to senior positions or specialize as a single imaging technologist such as MRI Technologist, CT Technologist or a PET CT Technologist by qualifying in appropriate certification programs.
• Application Specialists in various Multinational Companies in manufacturing/service sector of radiology/radiography equipments

Eligibility

A pass in higher secondary course (+2) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects or an equivalent with 12 years of schooling from a recognized board of school examination with minimum of 45% of marks in each subjects

Condition for Eligibility

Candidates those who are NOT belonging to Tamil Nadu State or NOT COMPLETED their higher secondary course or other equivalent examinations under Tamil Nadu State Board seeking admission into the course should obtain the eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University, Chennai prior to admission, which is mandatory.
